Piqua to welcome new subdivision, independent living cottages

The city of Piqua will soon have many new places to call home.
Two projects, a new upper-end housing division near County Road 25A and an expansion of a local assisted living community, will add between 40 and 50 residential units to the Piqua community in the coming years. Piqua City Planner and Interim Development Director Chris Schmiesing said the developments will not only add to the city's housing inventory, but will also "diversify" housing options.
"Both of those projects will serve some needs and some underserved interests," Schmiesing said.
One of the projects, the new housing development on County Road 25A, is known as The Pointe at Indian Ridge. The subdivision will consist of about 37 new homes once completed.
