Transportation

Piqua is located in west central Ohio, approximately 25 miles north of Dayton and approximately 80 miles north of Cincinnati. Piqua has excellent transportation access from points north and south along Interstate 75, from Canada to Florida.

I-75 I-70I-75 links Piqua to important markets including Detroit, Cincinnati-Dayton, Atlanta, Tampa-St. Petersburg, and Miami-Fort Lauderdale. I-75 provides direct access for business and commuters from Dayton, the closest large city. Piqua is part of the Dayton-Springfield Metropolitan Area and I-75 provides direct access to Piqua from other points in the metro area. Interstate 70 provides Piqua important east-west access, just 21 miles to the south where I-75 meets I-70. Interstate 70 connects the Dayton region with large markets east and west, including Columbus, the Pittsburgh area, and Baltimore (to the east) as well as Indianapolis, St. Louis, Kansas City, and Denver (to the west).

CSX RailPiqua also has good local and regional east-west access via U.S. Highway 36. All of these roads provide very good visibility for the city and some of its available industrial property. However, several of Piqua’s larger industrial areas are located away from I-75 and trucks must travel through the city to reach the interstate. Piqua is within a ½-hour drive of Dayton International Airport, at Exit 32 off of I-70. Dayton provides passenger and air cargo service via 12 commercial carriers. Finally, freight rail services are available on the north-south line connecting Toledo to Dayton and Cincinnati.

Rail served sites are available in Piqua, with rail service provided by the CSX Railroad. These rail sites, combined with the excellent transportation system, provide companies with easy highway, rail or air access.

Dayton International Airport is 20 miles to the South of Piqua.  Click here for Dayton Area Airlines information. Columbus International Airport is 75 miles to the East, and Cincinnati Airport is 85 miles South.

Corporate jet service is available at the Piqua Airport - Hartzell Field lying immediately adjacent to Piqua, providing a 4,000-foot runway, customs and full support services.
