The goal of Grow Piqua Now's economic development efforts is to generate wealth for the community through the creation of jobs, which ultimately contribute to the well-being of Piqua and its residents. Grow Piqua Now is committed to help in the creation of a vibrant, attractive and sustainable economic environment so that new and existing businesses can grow and succeed in our community.

Steeped in a rich industrial history that dates back to the early 1800s, Piqua's diverse business community encompasses all of the region's key industries. Companies such as French Oil Mill Machinery Co. and Hartzell Industries have found success in Piqua for over 100 years.  Industrial Spring Co. and Trupointe Cooperative found Piqua's location and workforce ideal for new investment.

Grow Piqua Now's business attraction, retention and expansion initiatives build upon our strengths in targeted industry sectors.

Targeted Industries

Food processing/packaging – with investments to the water and wastewater systems, Piqua will have the capacity to handle additional users.  The food industry tends to have heavy water/wastewater requirements and prefers to locate on greenfields in more rural settings.

Plastics Manufacturing – Piqua has a concentration of plastics producers and recyclers to provide raw materials.  Expertise of the existing workforce in plastics is a competitive advantage.

Automotive Parts Suppliers – Piqua's location in the traditional “auto alley” provides advantages in logistics, workforce and supply chain.

Information Technology – with the investment into the Gig+ Piqua Fast Fiber network, Piqua maintains a competitive advantage for large bandwidth users.

These industry clusters represent areas where Grow Piqua Now believes growth opportunities exist and where our region has demonstrated success in the attraction and expansion of companies in these industries.
