Historic East Piqua

Monday, February 20, 2017

The City of Piqua is looking at a Master Plan to redevelop and capitalize on the Historic East Piqua district through the preservation of existing neighborhood character, capitalization on unique sites within the neighborhood, and improvement of community civic spaces. One of the focuses of this Master Plan is the idea that a community’s appeal drives economic prosperity.

Community distinctiveness attracts people to a place and keeps them there. Community distinctiveness drives investment and drives the younger generations to more likely stay or relocate to an area. This premise of community looks at strengthening the attraction, walkability, and the identity of the neighborhoods.
