Dayton shows strong job growth in advanced industries

The Dayton area is well represented in the kinds of jobs that pay well — and the kinds of jobs that continue to grow even in what some see as a lackluster recovery.

Out of 100 metropolitan areas, the Dayton area ranked 24 in the advanced industries’ share of all metro-area jobs, according to a new Brookings Institution study.

These jobs are science and technology-intensive. They include advanced manufacturing, computer design, architectural work, engineering and more.
