STATE & REGIONAL RESOURCES

Much like most economic development organizations, Grow Piqua Now’s success comes from the close working relationship it has with its local and regional economic development partners. These organizations provide key resources to Grow Piqua Now in its efforts to attract new investment, retain its exiting companies, advocate on behalf of our local businesses, and help its entrepreneurs and small businesses grow in our community.

Ohio Business Development Coalition
The Ohio Business Development Coalition is a nonprofit organization charged with developing and executing a targeted, proactive sales and marketing strategy to position Ohio for aggressive competition for business investment and expansion opportunities. It is funded with a combination of public and private sector funds. The primary objective of the OBDC is to provide the Ohio Department of Development, the state's regional economic development organizations and chambers both qualified leads and effective tools to retain and expand Ohio companies, and attract new companies to Ohio.

Dayton Development Coalition
The Dayton Development Coalition is the regional economic development and advocacy organization whose mission is to support job creation and prosperity for the citizens of the Dayton Region. Working as a public/private partnership, they are growing the Dayton Region as one of the most livable regions in America. The organization focuses on business attraction & marketing, strategic retention of Wright-Patterson AFB and the region’s defense installations, growth initiatives for the region’s entrepreneurs and small businesses, and advocacy for state and federal support of regional projects.

Piqua Area Chamber of Commerce
The Piqua Area Chamber of Commerce is an integral part of Grow Piqua Now’s efforts to make our community a better place to live and do business. It is involved in many community initiatives from its Leadership programs, scholarships for youth, commercial beautification efforts, the Civic Hall of Fame and advocacy work on behalf of its members. The chamber also plays an important part in administering the BusinessFirst! regional retention & expansion program.

Mainstreet Piqua
Mainstreet Piqua, Inc. is a non-profit organization formed in 1993 to lead Piqua’s downtown revitalization efforts by creating an attractive, viable downtown environment, and by promoting downtown’s unique heritage. Its mission is to continue downtown economic development efforts, historically preserve and aesthetically enhance the downtown area, promote and market the unique features of downtown and help to unite the community in achieving these goals. The organization also organizes community efforts to create an attractive, viable downtown environment, and promotes the downtown’s unique historical assets using the National Main Street Center’s Four Point Approach.

Small Business Development Center at Edison Community College
Funded by the Ohio Department of Development and the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Small Business Development Center at Edison Community College is a regional economic development asset providing free, confidential business development assistance to entrepreneurs and small businesses. In addition to business counseling, the Center also provides low or no-cost training on a variety of topics including, business start-up, writing a business plan, and accessing capital, among others.
